This notice explains what personal information Uncloaked collects when you use uncloaked.co.za or contact us, why we collect it, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who is responsible for your information
The responsible party is Uncloaked, Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa. Requests and questions about personal information go to Uncloaked's Information Officer at myburghjordan2@gmail.com or on 066 267 5473.
What we collect
| When | What |
|---|---|
| You send the quote form | Your name, business name, email address, phone number, the service and budget you selected, and your message. |
| You message us on WhatsApp, call or email | Your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us. |
| You become a client | Billing details for invoices, plus the business information needed to build your website or automation. |
| You browse the site | Nothing that identifies you. This site sets no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies, fingerprinting or personal identifiers, and our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security. |
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To deliver and support the work you have asked for, and to invoice you.
- To keep the website and our systems secure.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.
We rely on your consent when you submit the form, and on the need to perform a contract once you become a client. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for marketing you did not ask for.
Where it is stored and who handles it
- Cloudflare hosts this website and processes requests on servers around the world.
- EmailJS relays the quote form to our email inbox and keeps no copy of it afterwards.
- Google Gmail holds our email.
- WhatsApp (Meta)carries any chat you start with us, under WhatsApp's own terms.
These providers store information outside South Africa. Each is bound by its own privacy commitments and by contract to protect the data, which is the safeguard POPIA section 72 requires for cross-border transfers.
Automations built for clients
When we build an AI automation for a client, the client remains the responsible party for their customers' data and Uncloakedacts as an operator under section 21 of POPIA. We sign a written operator agreement, process information only on the client's instructions, and design the workflow so the data stays on the client's own hardware or on our South African hub rather than being sent to a cloud AI service.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within 12 months. Client records and invoices are kept for five years after the last transaction, as South African tax law requires, and then deleted.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies and does not use advertising trackers. Page views are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not identify individual visitors, so no consent banner is needed. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated first and any non-essential tracking will ask for your consent.
Your rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent at any time; it will not affect anything done before.
- Object to processing, including any direct marketing.
- Complain to the Information Regulator if you are not satisfied with our response.
To exercise any of these, email the Information Officer at myburghjordan2@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
